Heavy air strikes on Ukrainian power stations

Once again, power plants have been targeted by Russian air strikes. In five regions, including Donetsk and Zaporizhia, power stations have been damaged by missiles and drones, Ukrainian energy company Ukrenergo said. Two power stations have been severely affected, according to Ukraine’s largest private grid operator, DTEK.

Russia regularly carries out air strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure. The Ukrainian army says its anti-aircraft defenses have downed 35 of 53 missiles and 46 of 47 Russian drones.

It is the sixth major attack since March involving both thermal and hydroelectric power stations. As a result, the Ukrainian population often suffers from power outages. As far as we know, no injuries have been reported.
