Israeli missiles on Yemen ‘after attack Houthis with cluster munition’
Israel has performed air strikes on the Yemeni capital Sanaa, reports the Houthi headquarters. According to the Houthis, two people died.
The promotion follows an attack on Israel by Houthis, who would have fired a rocket with cluster munition on Friday on Israel.
The projectile has exploded in the air, after which the Israeli anti -aircraft again tried to make the clustermunition harmless. The Israeli army states that it is possible to disable such rockets. Iran himself has also fired rockets with cluster munitions on Israel during the mutual hostilities in June.
According to Israel, the target of today’s attack on Sanaa were a military complex with the presidential palace, two power plants and a fuel storage. Eyewitnesses report loud explosions, including near the palace. Buildings vibrated on their foundations and windows were killed. The palace has been empty for years.
not deterred
The Houthis say they are not put off by Israel and that they continue to perform attacks.
Last week, Sanaa, which is in the hands of the Houthis, also bombarded by Israel with rockets. Then the attacks were aimed at the energy infrastructure of the rebels. All in all, Israel has attacked the Houthi’s supported by Iran fifteen times, mainly due to bombing from the air.
The Houthis have been carrying rocket and drone attacks on Israel for almost two years. They say they do that out of solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. For a while, international ships in the Red Sea were also targeted.
